Anna-Lisa Öst (1889-1974) was a Swedish gospel singer and recording artist, who was popular with both Swedish and Swedish-American audiences in the 1940s and 1950s. She performed in folk costume and was known as "Lapp-Lisa", a name reflecting the Sami heritage of her home district. Six of her recordings were released by the Harmony Music label of Berkeley, Calfornia: "Barnatro", "Då Mötte Mig Jesus", "Härliga Golgata", "Min Mors Sånger", "Norrlandssången", "Säg Min Moder Att Vi Mötas Där".

Lapp-Lisa Back In America: The Swedish Salvation Army’s singing evangelist, Mrs. Anna-Lisa Öst and her daughter Siv, arrived recently in New York City on the Swedish American Line’s “Stockholm”. Mrs. Öst, who is better known under her stage name of “Lapp-Lisa”, has previously toured the United States with great success. Mother and daughter will be performing in Swedish-American centers in the East and Midwest of the country under the auspices of the Salvation Army. Lapp-Lisa is among Sweden’s most popular religious singers.
In the mid-1950s the Swedish gospel group “Norrlänningarna" performed throughout the United States and released more than a dozen songs on American record labels.
Einar Ekberg (1905 – 1961) was a Swedish gospel singer, who first toured the United States in 1924 and immigrated there in 1948. He nonetheless continued performing in both Sweden and America for the rest of his life. Among his many recordings were those released in the United States on the Harmony label.
Sohlmans musiklexikon (Sohlman’s musical dictionary) stated that "Einar Ekberg's voice was warm and sonorous and his singing characterized by deep musicality, great technical skills and congenial text interpretation. He had the distinct ability to highlight and ennoble even the simple, artless songs typical of the evangelical Christian genre." The Swedish journalist and historian Uno "Myggan" Ericson described Ekberg as "sacred music’s most distinguished representative, who knew how to give even the most banal lyrics and melody deeper content."
